EN) The audio drama installation Mutter war meine Landschaft by Hyunju Oh is part of an ongoing body of work that explores the implications of motherhood through sound, performance, and installation. The artist draws on personal histories and lived experiences, through which the relationship between mother and child is examined, alongside questions of how memories and traumas are silently transmitted and transformed from one generation to the next. Oh navigates absence and presencing through sound, and specifically aural dramaturgy – where the prominence of speech, voice and sound is foregrounded. Mutter war meine Landschaft is a space for reflection and contemplation. Through suspended, sculpturally treated fabrics, light, and glass stones, the artist invites the audience to enter a ‘scenography’ in which pain, loss, and memory can be negotiated.
DE) Die Audio-Drama-Installation Mutter war meine Landschaft von Hyunju Oh gehört zu einem fortlaufenden Werkkomplex, der die Implikationen von Mutterschaft durch Klang, Performance und Installation erforscht. Ausgangspunkt der künstlerischen Arbeit sind persönliche Geschichten und Erlebnisse, anhand derer die Beziehung zwischen Mutter und Kind sowie die Frage untersucht werden, wie sich Erinnerungen und Traumata von Generation zu Generation stillschweigend fortschreiben und transformieren. Oh bewegt sich zwischen Abwesenheit und Präsenz mittels Klang, insbesondere durch eine aurale Dramaturgie, in der Sprache, Stimme und Sound eine zentrale Rolle einnehmen. Mutter war meine Landschaft ist ein Raum der Reflexion und der Kontemplation. Mit aufgehängten, skulptural behandelten Stoffen, Licht und Glassteinen lädt die Künstlerin das Publikum dazu ein, in eine „Szenografie“ einzutauchen, in der Schmerz, Verlust und Erinnerung verhandelt werden.
KR) 오현주의 오디오 드라마 설치물 <Mutter war meine Landschaft (어머니는 나의 풍경이었다)>는 소리, 퍼포먼스, 설치를 통해 모성의 함의를 탐구해온 지속적인 작업 연작에 속한다. 이 예술적 연구는 개인적인 이야기와 경험을 출발점으로 삼아, 어머니와 아이 사이의 관계를 탐구하고, 기억과 트라우마가 세대를 거쳐 어떻게 암묵적으로 이어지고 변형되는지를 질문한다. 특히 소리를 매개로 부재와 현존 사이를 오가며 작업하는 오현주 작가는, 언어, 목소리, 사운드가 중심적인 역할을 하는 청각적 드라마투르기를 통해 이를 구현한다. <Mutter war meine Landschaft (어머니는 나의 풍경이었다)>는 성찰과 사유의 공간이다. 매달린 직물 조각, 빛, 그리고 유리 결정체를 활용하여, 작가는 관객을 고통, 상실, 기억이 다루어지는 하나의 ‘장면 구성(시노그래피)’ 속으로 몰입하도록 이끈다.
