EN) Theresa Hak Kyung Cha’s text from her book “Dictee,” which Sebastian Claren uses in his composition “Gagokbounce: One by One,” evokes a deeper narrative resonance beyond the immediate act of reading the described voice. Embedded within it are also moments of reconstructing the figures and historical fragments presented in “Dictee,” based on feminism and decolonialism, as well as reflections on Cha’s artworks that address confusion of identity and language.
The text that emerges in Sebastian Claren’s composition, in particular, can be perceived as the “voice” of a person of the diaspora generation who has lived through and accepted all times: “Broken speech. One to one. […] Swallows. Inhales. Stutter. Starts. Stops before starts.”
The scenographic installation and synchronized performance for the Vienna presentation of Sebastian Claren’s composition “Gagokbounce: One by One”—the inspiration for which came from Sebastian—draws associatively on aspects and materials from Cha’s artistic cosmos. Her approach of linguistic deconstruction and her concept of temporal layering are reflected in the structure of the installation and the rhythm of the performance: clusters and lines / fragments and knots / cracks and trajectories.
The performance “Broken Tongue,” embedded in the Vienna presentation of Sebastian Claren’s piece “Gagokbounce: One by One,” oscillates between narration and sensory impression—quietly flowing light.
DE) Theresa Hak Kyung Chas Text aus ihrem Buch „Dictee“, den Sebastian Claren in seiner Komposition „Gagokbounce: One by One“ verwendet, evoziert über das unmittelbare Erlesen der beschriebenen Stimme hinaus eine tiefere narrative Resonanz. Darin geborgen sind auch Momente der Rekonstruktion der in „Dictee“ aufgeführten Personen und historischen Bruchstücke auf der Grundlage von Feminismus und Dekolonialismus sowie Gedanken an Chas Kunstwerken, die Identitäts- und Sprachverwirrung thematisieren.
Gerade der in Sebastian Clarens Komposition aufscheinende Text wird als „Stimme“ einer Person der Diaspora-Generation wahrgenommen, die alle Zeiten durchlebt und akzeptiert hat: „Broken speech. One to one. […] Swallows. Inhales. Stutter. Starts. Stops before starts.“
Die bühnenbildhafte Installation und Synchron-Performance zur Wiener Aufführung von Sebastian Clarens Komposition „Gagokbounce: One by One“- die Anregung dazu kam von Sebastian - greift assoziativ Aspekte und Materialien aus Chas künstlerischem Kosmos auf. Ihr sprachlicher Dekonstruktionsansatz und ihr Konzept zeitlicher Überlagerungen spiegeln sich in der installativen Struktur und dem Rhythmus der Performance: Klumpen und Linien / Fragmente und Knoten / Risse und Bahnen.
Die Performance „Gebrochene Zunge“, eingebettet in die Wiener Aufführung von Sebastian Clarens Stück „Gagokbounce: One by One“, changiert zwischen Erzählung und Sinneseindruck - still fließendes Licht.
KR) 차학경(Theresa Hak Kyung Cha)의 저서 『딕테(Dictee)』에 수록된 텍스트는, 작곡가 세바스티안 클라렌(Sebastian Claren)이 그의 작품 「Gagokbounce: One by One」에서 사용한 것으로, 단순히 묘사된 목소리를 읽는 즉각적인 차원을 넘어 더 깊은 서사적 울림을 불러일으킨다. 그 안에는 페미니즘과 탈식민주의를 바탕으로 『딕테』에 등장하는 인물들과 역사적 단편들을 재구성하려는 순간들이 담겨 있으며, 정체성과 언어의 혼란을 다루는 차의 예술 작업에 대한 사유 또한 포함되어 있다.

이 퍼포먼스 “Gebrochene Zunge”(부서진 혀)는 세바스티안 클라렌의 곡 「Gagokbounce: One by One」의 2025년 공연 속에 포함되어 있으며, 서사와 감각적 인상 사이를 오간다 — 고요하게 흐르는 빛처럼.
